ARCHEOLOGICAL MEMORIES

The archaeological remains of our area show that it has attracted people for a long time. The presence of deep reservoirs filled with fish, forests with game and the beauty of nature made the outskirts of the village. Savin favorable for settlement. According to the data obtained by scientists in archaeological excavations, the first settlements appeared here in 2-1 BC. Today, 2 explored places of permanent settlements of ancient people are known.

Settlement “Vargi”

Settlement of the Bronze Age of the Early Iron Age. It is approximately dated to the 2nd-1st millennium BC. – 1st millennium AD of the Old Russian period. It is located 1.2 km west of the village. Savin, near the old about. Vargi (has a parallel name “Varyags”).

Settlement “Stybin”

This ancient Russian settlement is much younger than the settlement of “Vargi”. Archaeologists date it to the XI-XIII centuries. not. It is located 1.5 km southeast of the village. Savin, near a lake of meteoric origin called Stybin. It has a parallel name “Glubokoe” (according to the recollections of local residents, its depth reached 20 m). It was full of fish and its water still has healing properties, so it is not surprising that the settlement was located exactly near its shores.

MEMORIES OF THE SECOND WORLD WAR

During the Second World War, our village was under occupation for long and difficult 2 years: on September 7, 1941, the territory of the village was occupied by German troops and stayed here until September 22, 1943. The stories of the villagers and the monuments to the fallen soldiers remind about the terrible war times.

Mass grave of Soviet soldiers

During 1954-1955. in the center of the village, near the building of the headman, on the site of the mass grave, in which the bodies of 14 Soviet soldiers who died during the defense (autumn 1941) and liberation (autumn 1943) of the village were buried, a monument was erected

Monument to military pilots

In the forest in the vicinity of the village. Savin, there is a monument to military pilots, Hero of the Soviet Union, commander of 91 fighter air regiment A.S. Romanenko. and Lieutenant V.V. Grevtsov.

In this area in 1943 the runway of a military airfield was located. It was from her that the commander of the 91st fighter air regiment of the Kiev Fighter Air Division, Hero of the Soviet Union, pilot, Major Alexander Sergeevich Romanenko, carried out his last 197 combat flight with a group of 12 fighters. In an unequal fierce air battle, he shot down four fascist planes and, as a result of the explosion of his own plane, died not far from the village. Linden Skitok.

 

His subordinate, pilot, junior lieutenant Grevtsov V.V., who was also a participant in the same air battle, died near the village. Plesetskoe. The battle took place on November 6, 1943 in the Vasilkovsky district of the Kiev region.
