Nature
The picturesque village of Savin is located on the left bank of the Desna River in the southeastern part of the Kozeletsky District and, like a green ribbon, stretches along a rammed dirt road leading from Oster, Chernihiv Oblast up to the village. Semipolki of Brovarsky district of Kiev region.
OUR WATERS
Among other villages in the district, our village stands out for a relatively large number of different reservoirs, incl. those that have been assigned the status of a hydrological natural monument. In summer, they give the desired freshness, delight the eye with clear water, and some of them have long been considered healing waters. They are a real boon for anglers, as their waters are literally filled with fish.
lake STYBIN (has parallel names Round, Deep)
Located in the southeast with. Savin (about 2 km from the outskirts). In a shallow bowl-shaped depression. It has a rounded shape (220×200 m). The total area of the lake is 5.95 hectares. Depth: the maximum depth is approximately 18 m (previously the depth was more than 20 m, but the lake has silted up over time).
The status of a local hydrological monument of nature was assigned by the decision of the Chernihiv Regional Executive Committee of November 13, 1966, No. 643; dated 06/10/1972 No. 303; dated December 27, 1984, No. 454; from 28.08.1989, № 164. Stays in the department of the Savinsky headman.
Lake Stybin itself is quite mysterious. So, the origin of its name is unknown, but the legend about the origin of the lake itself, which can be attributed to the category of cosmogonic ones, has been preserved: “Somehow the evil spirits pulled out a huge dirt of the earth and thus made a mountain, and filled the moat with water.” The lake, apparently, has a meteoric origin – in this case, the legend about the so-called. “Evil spirits” looks quite true.
Among the locals, it is known as curative: it is believed that its water helps heal wounds and treat skin diseases. Stybin is a favorite vacation spot for local residents and guests of our village: clear clear water, a sandy beach, a gentle descent to the water and a variety of shady thickets around the entire perimeter of the lake make it comfortable for swimming.
Lake Varyagi (VARGA)
From the western side with. Savin in a forest glade (in a fenced area) is located about. Varangians
Coordinates: 50 ° 49’45 ° N 30 ° 54’33 ° E. The total area of the lake: 5 hectares, the lake has an oval shape, rich in fish and is a great place for successful fishing. It is under the jurisdiction of the Savinsky headma
In parallel, another name is used – Vargi (perhaps this is a consequence of the simplification in the pronunciation of the word – the loss of the letter “I”). Both names are used in parallel. The lake received such a name in honor of the ancient settlements of the Varangian tribes, who lived here for a long time (while traveling by the way of the Varangians to the Greeks).
Lake HOLY
At a distance of 1.5 km. from s. Savin (near the village of Ozernoe) is another well-known hydrological natural monument about. Sacred (total area 70 hectares), which is part of the regional landscape park Mezhdurechensky.
According to legends, in ancient times on the site of Fr. There was a church of the saint, which fell into the ground, and a lake was formed on the spot, which soon turned into a swamp: today the lake is almost all overgrown with sphagnum alloys, and a clean surface of water remained only in the central part.
BETS (“circles”)
Near the village and in the village itself, there are more than ten small ponds (the locals call them “circles”), which add variety to its nature: Gorevakha, Markov (Okhrimov), Pshonyankin, Sivakov, Gribov, Shpilyakovsky circles, Dubina, Sazhalka, Balikovshchina, Stepurin, Sea, Rakovka, Mosina Valley, Uzrub, Gaiduk. In the spring, these ponds are filled with a sufficient amount of water, and in the summer they become much shallower, some of them dry up altogether.
In 2018 p. by the efforts of activists, a small lake (6 m depth) was restored in the village, which later became a local concentration of fishing.
Until now, the names of small lakes, which are currently considered dry, have been preserved: Gaiduk, Rakovka, Kalov (Kolov). On the territory of the district, which is under the authority of the Savinsky headman, there is one swamp called Kupyatin.
OUR FOREST. GREEN SPACES
Fresh air saturated with pine and herbal aromas, comfort and protection from the summer heat, a lot of wild animals – the luxurious forest that surrounds the village of Savin gives us real wealth.
Our forest area is called Kurgany. By its type, it can be attributed to a mixed forest: coniferous trees, saturating the air with healing aromas, grow side by side with deciduous trees. The total area of the forest is 250 hectares. It encircles the village from the western side in a dense semicircle and makes the nature of Savino attractive and luxurious.
In ancient times, after the departure of the Varangian tribes from this area, most of the nearby forests were destroyed. As a result, moving sands, which occupy a significant area between Savin and Evminka, during strong winds often covered more fertile soils, lakes and swamps. Particularly great harm was caused by these moving sands of the modern western and northwestern territory, where in some places the sand inflicted 1-2 m, and sometimes up to 10-12 meters, creating sand humps, which the locals call mountains and mounds. This is where the name of the forest area “Kurgany” comes from.
There are other woodlands not far from the village: Rechinsky Gai, Rakita, Priborochek, Nizhnikov Sadok.
With its picturesque landscapes. Savin is famous not only for its forests, but also for a large number of decorative green spaces, as well as garden trees and shrubs. The inhabitants of the village maintain a good tradition of planting wildly flowering plants near their houses: chernobryvtsy, jasmine, roses – and heady aromas fill the air from April to October, and the eye is unable to capture the riot of lush bloom.
RELIEF. RUNTS.
The surface of our village is flat with small elevations in some places, not exceeding 10 m above the terrain level. Such heights (formed as a result of the movement of masses of moving sand, like desert dunes) are called mountains by the locals and gave each of them its own name: Church, Matveykina.
There were two more so-called. the mountains, which, unfortunately, in the words of the villagers, were “dismantled for building materials”, and, as a memory of them, only the names remained – Sakovicheva and Lysaya.
The northern, northeastern part of the village is lower
TRAINING (meaning “hollows”)
The territory of the Savinsky headman includes numerous tracts:
Capital, Levada, Kolov (Heavy swamp), Selishche, Krutukha, Lozki, Gorevakha, Lozka, Sea, Khutorische, Gaiduk, Pins, Rotting. There are also valleys (Simeritovaya, Mosina, Chubarova, Shpilekova) and pastures (Galo, Rakovka).
The prevailing soils of the territory with. Savin, especially in the west and northwest, are exclusively sandy-podzolic. The soils of the northern and northeastern areas are gray-sandy, sod-podzolic. Such soils are significantly improved by the introduction of humus, peat, mineral fertilizers.
